SHORT TOURS

A few good places to start.

You do not need a plan to explore. But if you would like one, pick a route below. Open a world in 3D, have a look around, then return here for the next stop. The dossier gives you the fuller story without needing the 3D view.

The scenes are illustrations, not a scale model of the distances between worlds. These routes use the existing atlas and its stated data snapshot; they are not a live list of every discovery.

Earth and the Moon

Two stops, close to home. Start with the world we know, then look at its companion.

  1. Earth. Look at the surface and read the facts. What makes it familiar? Open Earth in 3D · Read the dossier
  2. The Moon. Compare its surface, size, and orbit with Earth. What changes when you look at a moon rather than a planet? Open The Moon in 3D · Read the dossier

Meet TRAPPIST-1

Start with the host star, then visit two of the planets in its system. Compare the facts in their dossiers rather than assuming an illustrated surface tells us what is really there.

  1. TRAPPIST-1. Meet the star at the center of this route. Open TRAPPIST-1 in 3D · Read the dossier
  2. TRAPPIST-1 b. Read its orbit and physical details before moving outward. Open TRAPPIST-1 b in 3D · Read the dossier
  3. TRAPPIST-1 e. Compare it with planet b. Which details are measurements, and which parts of the view are an interpretation? Open TRAPPIST-1 e in 3D · Read the dossier

Three very different moons

Take a closer look at the Moon, Europa, and Titan. For each stop, compare the surface, atmosphere, and the world it orbits using the dossier.

  1. The Moon. Begin with our nearest example. Open The Moon in 3D · Read the dossier
  2. Europa. What stands out when you compare its dossier with the Moon’s? Open Europa in 3D · Read the dossier
  3. Titan. Finish here, then compare all three. What did you expect them to have in common? Open Titan in 3D · Read the dossier

Keep exploring
